Usually Joseph’s drawings are of “scribble-scrabble” or “lightning.” His words, though pretty accurate descriptions of the drawings. Then today this masterpiece comes home, and I have to say, I’m pretty impressed! It’s the first representation of something I have seen…though maybe he could draw other stuff but was just choosing lightning or scribble.

So from left to right we have: Maddie, Daddy, Mommy and Joseph.

Joseph first pointed out that “we are all wearing clothes!” He said that the blue was clothes and daddy had some orange clothes instead. “Maddie sure has on colorful clothes,” I said. Joseph’s reply: “Yes. And she has little eyes. And she is looking at daddy.” We are not smiling and are just looking straight ahead because we’re grumpy, he explained. “Why are we grumpy?” “Because we’re mad…mad at the animals! And the dinosaurs! All the dinosaurs in the city! And, I am taller than you and daddy. And, you have J feet!”

Wonder what a psychologist would have to say about all that?
